Enjoy an exhilarating launch through the surf on one of our eight metre rib's fitted with twin 85 yamahas. Our skippers have many years experience of launching to Aliwal Shoal and you can relax in the knowledge that our boats are fitted with the all the required safety equipment:

    * Emergency oxygen
      Aliwal Dive Centre - RIB launched from river
    * First Aid Kit
    * Radio contact with dive shop and other boats
    * Cell phone
    * Life jackets

Each boat will launch with a maximum of ten divers along with one divemaster who will endeavor to show you all the beauty that the Shoal has to offer along with giving you that added security that someone with local knowledge and experience is there underwater if you need them.


When and where
Each year between June and July massive shoals of sardines congregate along the wild coast to begin their swim north along the coast towards Durban. This amazing spectacle is one of Mother Nature's greatest events and should be on everyone's list of things to see before they die.

What to see
The enormous shoals of sardines which can spread over several kilometers are accompanied on their journey by a wide variety of sharks, dolphins, whales, game fish and sea birds.

If you would like to experience 'the sards' up close and personal, contact us and leave your details. We will arrange for one of our boats to be on standby during the run and as soon as we get word of action we will call you.

Our boats will launch with up to 10 divers/riders for a 2 hour (or longer by arrangement) ocean safari, where the skipper will look for bait balls and you can enjoy the abundance of wildlife chasing the biggest fish supper ever seen. On board will be cool drinks and snacks to keep you sustained during your adventure. You don't need to be a scuba diver (although it helps!), you can bring your camera and capture the moment for ever, or you can jump in with a mask and snorkel for the thrill of a lifetime.

You will never forget being so close to nature or the privilege of being one of the few who have seen ............ "The Greatest Shoal on Earth".
